Which direction is best for a pooja room as per vastu?
North-east (the Ishan corner) is the ideal pooja room direction per vastu — idols placed so you face east or north while praying. Avoid siting the mandir under a staircase or against a bathroom wall. In compact Bengaluru apartments we design north-east-facing wall-mounted mandirs when a full room isn't possible.
What materials are best for a home mandir?
Solid teak and honed marble are the two most durable mandir materials — teak for warmth and carvability, marble for a cool, easy-to-clean surface around diyas. We add fire-rated backing, copper drip plates and ventilated jaali screens so daily aarti stays safe and smoke-free.
